In 1978, Russel Ketchabaw purchased a distribution territory for 3M Trim-Line products. In those early days, business was conducted in both the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and Northern Ontario.

At the time, the company operated from Russel ’s family residence (an office having been set up in the basement), his garage and the back of his van. His main clients were automobile dealers, at a time when striping kits and body side mouldings were all the rage in the 80 ’s.

The now growing business moved out of the house in 1989, then into even bigger premises in 1994, on the corner of Industrial Blvd. and the Hwy. 117 bypass. This allowed expansion into other services, such as sign-making, window tinting, rust-proofing and as a spin-off, a complete line of promotional items.

The success of these undertakings rendered necessary further expansion into a building with a larger garage for truck and vehicle lettering, and more office space for the ever-growing sign-making and promotional-items departments. In 1997, Trim-Line moves into its new offices at 1039 Echo Street. The purchase of new equipment, such as a 4-head embroidery machine and a wide-format digital printer, allows for a wider range of products to be offered, and gives a better control over quality and production time. New personnel is hired and trained to use these new technologies, while still maintaining a friendly, reliable and quick service to our customers.

Since october 2009, the 4 new shareholders keep on this tradition, backed by a team of experienced employees.

Today, Trim-Line employs 16 people, and enjoys excellent business relations with hundreds of clients in Abitibi-Témiscamigue and the vast Northern Quebec region.
